Launch into your Antarctica Photo Expedition in Santiago, Chile, with time to appreciate this modern South American metropolis before a short flight to Ushuaia, Argentina, the world’s southernmost city. Absorb and photograph the sites of this popular and attractive resort town surrounded by snow-capped mountains, rivers and waterfalls, before boarding the MS Fram, your home and floating photo seminar for the week! The MS Fram, which contains state of the art facilities, is the newest addition to the fleet and is currently being built in Italy. Once aboard, less than two days will be spent crossing the Drake Passage - the Strait connecting the Atlantic and Pacific oceans between Tierra del Fuego and the South Shetland Islands - where the climate changes from cool, humid, and sub polar to the frozen conditions of Antarctica.

As you approach the Antarctic Peninsula, which is more than half the size of North America, get your camera ready to capture the majestic cliffs of the breathtaking Neumayer Channel and the narrow, glacier-lined Lemaire Channel, considered one of most beautiful passages in Antarctica where humpback and killer whales, penguins and elephant seals thrive. As your expedition vessel makes its way along the Antarctica Peninsula, capture the vast icy landscape plus rare close up images of the diverse wildlife when you climb aboard the smaller Polar Circle excursion boats where landings will be attempted in various locations (weather permitting) including: Half Moon Island, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, chinstrap penguin rookery, kelp gulls, Antarctic terns and whales; the warm springs and black volcanic sand at Whaler’s Bay on Deception Island; the stunning ice cliffs, tremendous floating icebergs and gentoo and chinstrap penguins of Almirante Brown in Paradise Harbor; the immense mountains, glaciers, ice shelves and blue-eyed cormorants of Port Lockroy; Polish Arctowski Base in Admiralty Bay, where Adelie and gentoo penguins and elephant seals can be found and Petermann Island, home of the southernmost gentoo penguin colony and blue-eyed shags.

These are just a few of the extraordinary images that await you in the grandest wilderness on earth. Don’t miss this opportunity to capture some of the most unique and exiting photographs in your life and experience the photography workshop that people only dream about!
